Stella's Groove sounds like the Village People

When I first hear this story I had to laugh just little.

Karma is a bitch isn't it folks. Terry McMillan has made a fortune male bashing and now it's come back to bite her on the ass.

For those of you who don't know Terry McMillan she's the woman who gave us such urban novels such as Disappearing Acts, Waiting to Exhale and How Stella Got Her Groove Back.

The heroine in her books are always these middle aged black women who've been dogged by men. But some how they manage to over come their troubles and start a new with the help of their girlfriends or a younger man.

I always thought it is kinda funny that Terry McMillan married a man 23 (Jonathan Plummer) years her junior. But for him to turn out to be gay after all this time is just amazing to me. It would appear that he seduced her and married her just to get US citizenship.

It is a shame that an accomplished, intelligent, and beautiful black woman was such a fool for love.

The real question is...Is Mr. Plummer entitled to a share of the royalties of Ms. McMillian's bestseller "How Stella Got Her Groove Back"? Personally I feel he's entitled to some money. Why, you ask? Because he was her muse. Granted it all blew up in her face but he still deserves some money for being her inspiration.

Let me know what you think on this one folks.

He shouldn't get a dime, he signed a pre-nump end of story. If he wanted to continue his lifestyle he should've hid his little secret a wee bit better. 10 years being married to a gay man though...wow...that has got to be the biggest ego deflater in the world.

Why is it men consider it male bashing when a woman writes about heart ache? (The Color Purple aside. Because even though it is one of my favorite films I can not deny it has a lesbian euphoric ending.)

I think he deserves the money just based on the fact that he was her muse.

Hell there have been cases in where women have signed pre-nups and still walk away with some money.

I consider it male bashing when EVERY man in her books ain't sjit. And the only men worth having are the ones who are WIDOWERS or ones who are on their way to becoming widowers. What's the deal with that? Is she trying to say that a man can't love until his first wife dies? What kind of f*cked up necrophilia is that?

Muse's shouldn't get paid. If that were the case every artist in the world would be broke as hell.

It has nothing to do with male/female as for as the pre-nump is concerned with me if you sign it then you gets no cash. You're right though, it is sad they're really not worth anything these days. No matter what you say in it, chances are you'll lose if you go to court. But come on...he's gay. I can look at the picture of him and tell that. If he can argue that he wasn't gay when they met, won't that set gay rights back like millions of years? Because if a person can "become" gay then can't they "unbecome" gay? LOL Sorry I know that's not a word.

I don't know if he turned gay after they married.

But I do think that it just goes to show you that this fantasy that millions of women bought into was a lie.

Hilarious.

This guy doesn't deserve squat, outside of what is stipulated in the prenup.

Just to followup.

The judge ordered McMillan to pay Plummer $2,000 a month in spousal support and $25,000 in attorney's fees until the case comes back to court in October.

Nice.

I don't think that he deserves any money for being her "muse". I also do not think it is fair for her to be ordered to support him or pay his legal fees. I guess pre-nups aren't worth the paper they're printed on...

Nope. That man doesn't deserve anything except for a coke and a smile. She put his black behind up for years in that $4 million house and gave him his own business. He's getting alimony already... I think he should get enough to buy a plane ticket back to Jamaica (and to take Al "I'm gay as the day is long" Reynolds with him too.) Star can find another man :)

Jonathan was on the Wendy Williams experience on July 18 and he said that he got proceeds from the book and the movie and also went to book signings...so now I'm confuse to what else he's looking for...I felt that was generous enough...just cause u write a book about someone doesn't neccesary give them the right to make money from it, especially when it's part ur story, doesn't harm their character in anyway or they gave their consent. Also he signed the pre-nup, he really should stop whining..

He should be arrested for what he might have brought home on the tip of his d%^& to Terri. I'm sure Terri McMillian had already fell victim to a man's lies before she published any book. So it's not Karma....but her soon to be ex has some pretty messed up Karma coming back to him.

he shouldn't get a penny, a dime is to much!! And to say use the term kerma one must know that it means "when one has done something that backfires. well, all i see that terry did was give a black man a job, help him better himself, and told others about his goodness, so, the kerma she should receive: WEALTH, LOVE, AND GOODNESS!!
